John Barnes Quartet at the George & Dragon

This evening we went to the George & Dragon in Thames Ditton to see the John Barnes quartet, comprising John Barnes (baritone sax, alto sax, clarinet), Alan Dandy (keyboard), Mick Durelle (string bass) and Don Cook (drums). Our favourite numbers were:
1) The Way You Look Tonight from the Jerome Kern / Dorothy Fields musical 'Swing Time' but sung on this link by Billie Holiday.
Alan Dandy's beautiful solo feature, combining
2) Memories of You, composed by Eubie Blake and played on this link by Louis Armstrong
and
3) More Than You Know written in 1929 by Vincent Youmans with lyrics by Billy Rose and Edward Eliscu, performed here by Benny Goodman's band.

Kim Martine joined the band to sing 'September in the Rain' by Harry Warren and 'But Not For Me' by Gershwin.
John Shepherd (trumpet) and John Lang (trombone) joined the band for 'Riverboat Shuffle', 'Savoy Blues' and 'Ring Dem Bells'.
The picture shows Don Cook performing his standard finale; drumming on everything he can find behind the bar.
