Magna Jazz Band with Goff Dubber

This evening we went to the Berrylands Hotel in Surbiton, where the Magna jazz band performs every week. On this occasion the band comprised Pete Towndrow (cornet, trumpet), Brian White (clarinet), Goff Dubber, (clarinet, soprano sax, tenor sax, pictured), Alan Dandy (keyboard), Richard Lyons (string bass) and Rex Bennett (drums). I noted 16 great numbers, i.e. all of them. We will mention a select few.
The clarinet duet 'Really the Blues', composed by Sidney Bechet and used as the title of Mezz Mezzrow's autobiography;
Pete's feature, played in the style of Harry James, You Made Me Love You, composed by James V. Monaco with lyrics by Joseph McCarthy, published in 1913 and introduced in the Broadway revue The Honeymoon Express;
Alan's solo, his own boogie-woogie composition 'Down By the River';
Goff's feature 'Call Me a Taxi', composed by Eddie Miller from the Bob Crosby band's repertoire;
The final number, a creation of Brian and Goff 'The Blues and Jung'.
