On Sunday evening we went to The Europa in East Molesey to see the Urban Gin House Band. The line-up was full of deps., comprising John Shepherd (trumpet), Mark Aston (tenor and 'bent' soprano saxophones), Andrew Clancy (keyboard), Roger Limb (bass) and Mike Knipe (drums). Our favourite number with these musicians was 'St Louis Blues' at the end.
Guests were:
Peter Miles (vocals), Peter Clancy, Roy Stokes and Peter Tallent (trombones), Trevor Dockerill (tenor sax) and Fred Shaw (cornet and vocal).
Peter Clancy also played bass while Roger Limb played keyboard.
We sat with a group of friends of John Shepherd who do not normally come to the Europa. Amazingly, one of them had seen this weblog.
