We are receiving more enquiries for 3 phase to single phase conversion, rather than the more usual converse. We can easily produce Scott transformers that take unbalanced currents from the incoming phases. The trick is to produce one that only unbalances power factor, not current magnitude.
On Wednesday evening we saw the
Chris Barber big band at the Epsom Playhouse. It can be described as pianoless early Duke Ellington in style, playing a good variation of jazz and blues.
On Monday I added new products to the
VDSL products page.
On Tuesday I undertook final test on a 50 Hz to 60 Hz frequency converter, using a new approach to one of the major components. I achieved 1 kVA, even though the component specifications indicated that this would not be possible.
We are now updating the following pages to show DSL splitters and DSL filters for other than the 600 ohm / RJ11 situations already shown:

Isomatic is now supplying DSL filters and DSL splitters for all countries, regardless of termination impedance and connector. This should give a big boost to our business. We are even including that weird oddball little country on the edge of Europe, dangling in the Atlantic, with a mad telecoms service provider that uses impedance and connector that are almost unique in the world.
On Tuesday evening we saw the
Keith Nichols Hot Five at the
Epsom Playhouse. In addition to Keith's brilliant piano playing, Enrico Tomasso blew the finest cornet and trumpet we have heard and Brian White was wonderful on clarinet as always. Martin Wheatley's approach to banjo playing was very different from others and looked extremely difficult to emulate. He also played resonator guitar using plectrum, fingers and once just the thumb. One piece sounded very like Eddie Lang.
We finally received our latest order from Strauss Direct, supposedly despatched on 10 February. This time the problem was a poorly addressed label on the package. This makes it three orders we have placed, all excellent goods but every time a different distribution problem. We just cannot place any more orders until we have details of how the system has been changed to improve it. The time spent chasing for the right goods to arrive turns a good price into a very expensive one.
